Thank you to Sherri Richardson for leading us forward into the blogging world! I am excited that this is going to be a wonderful communication tool for us! The first topic I would like to hear from you about is our Homework Zone scheduled for each Tuesday afternoon. Let me hear from you or your team about how the needs of our kiddos can be met in this avenue, example, another day or days or mornings, etc. Let me hear your thoughts, of course on any subject, but specifically this one!
Just a reminder to please let the office know if you are out for a day or part of a day. If you are too sick, team leaders, just e-mail us at the beginning of the day.
Thanks to Crissy for organizing our Watch-Dog Dad program and to all of you for working with her on the schedule.! In addition to Gunstream and Isabell Elementaries, Elliott elementary started this program at the beginning of the year and have had rave reviews about involvement of the Dads!
Just a reminder about a suggestion from Dr. Crook earlier in the Fall concerning writing. She mentioned kiddos like to use those great descriptive words when they are not necessary. For example, "We rode to Grandmother's house in a red Ford that was dirty because it had not been washed in a month and had a sticker about Girl Scouts that belonged to my older sister, old tires that need to be replaced, and a flag on the antenna that read"Save the Bunnies."...."
The great description needs to be saved for the actual important events that took place, "My birthday party at my Grandparents' house included Mickey, Minnie, Kermit and Ms. Piggy. All of these guests dined on a beautiful white chocolate cake with lush strawberries around the top."
