Curtsinger Connections for Monday, October 20, 2008

Welcome back to an Out of This World week! Fall is in the air and it just makes us frisky and also makes the kiddos friskier! Let's practice procedures if necessary to maintain boundaries and structure, which we know is what is best for kiddos!

Thank you for all of your hard work to get your parent conferences completed. Many parents have stopped me to mention how much they enjoyed this day!

As Mrs. McBride mentioned to you in an e-mail last week, our PTA Red Ribbon Week program will be Wednesday morning. Thank you, Mrs. McBride, for preparing an awesome week for our kiddos! Refer to her e-mail for times and special days.

The first meeting of our Curtsinger Site Based Committee will meet this Wednesday at 3:30. This committee is comprised, as mandated by the state of Texas, of a parent representative, a business member, a community member, an FISD Administrator, and 3/4 of the faculty of certified teachers. Our first informational meeting will feature a representative from the Frisco police department presenting crisis management plans in conjunction with FISD. Thank you to all serving on this committee!

Election day is coming quickly! Curtsinger is a polling area, so you will see much activity when you arrive at school on November 4. Keep in mind that traffic and parking will be a challenge from early in the day until the close of voting. The city will have policeman around the building in order to secure the elections. Just FYI!

Reminders:

• GMC at 8:05.
• Instructional specialists are on campus Thursday.
• Friday is the last day of the nine weeks. Check your curriculum documents to make sure you have the required minimum grades in each subject. District policy requires zeroes to be replaced with a grade of 50. Any questions, please ask.
• Dr. Bass, FISD personnel director, David Boles, elementary personnel director, will be on campus Friday at10:00 to meet with me for the annual personnel meeting. At this time, I am required to go through each member of Curtsinger faculty to report performance strengths and weaknesses I can't wait to brag on you all!!!!!
• Pep ralley Friday at 2:15!
• Add to your calendar that Debbie Jarzombek will be on campus Monday, October 27, to make a visit to each classroom just to meet you if she has not and to say hello! Debbie J. is FISD Elementary Curriculum Director.

Thank you all so very much for all of your dedication to our kiddos! You give them your very best everyday with positive attitudes and affirmations. Some days this is a tough calling due to many factors, but you do it anyway because you are simply the best! I am honored each and every day to be a part of such an outstanding group of professionals!
